Gwendis could use your assistance. An ancient vampire named Lady Thorn, who used to keep to herself, is now amassing an army. House Ravenwatch never kept tabs on her previously, as she didn't seem interested in the outside world. That, it seems, was a mistake. A strange fellow named Talfyg brought the castle to the attention of Gwendis, and brought her here with the intention of sneaking inside. It would be great if you could brute-force your way through the castle, and distract the vampires patrolling the necropolis to take attention away from the duo searching for a hidden entrance.
Fight your way through the horde of vampires and enter the courtyard. A massive beast blocks the way. Kill it, then enter the castle proper.

- Go to the Bangkorai Garrison.
- Find the scholars at Martyr's Crossing and Pelin Graveyard.

- Head back to the scholar's camp at Bangkorai Garrison.
- Investigate Viridian Watch.
- Meet Gwendis at Ravenwatch Castle.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Take the cart to the Bangkorai Garrison. Once there, speak to [[ON:|ON:]]. She's quite stressed, and can't divulge anything about the Gray Host's history to you at the moment. She does tell you that her companions were driven off by an attack, who specifically?.
Head north to Martyr's Crossing. There, you'll find [[ON:|ON:]], who will tell you that the Pyre Watch guardian and his other companion fled. The next scholar is located along the perimeter of Pelin Graveyard, behind an obelisk. He thanks you for coming for him, then tells you the Pyre Watch warrior hid in the nearby tomb, [[ON:|ON:]]. Enter the delve.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Travel to Grayhome.
- Deactivate the crystals and enter the castle.
- Drink the Dream-Walk Potion.
- Speak with Exarchs Tzinghalis and Ulfra.
- Talk to Rada al-Saran.
- Enter Verandis's Study and read his journal.
- Take Verandis's Reliquary and enter the Ritual Chamber.
- Light the candles and defeat the Gray Council member.
- Talk to Gwendis outside the ritual chamber.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Lead Gwendis up to Verandis's Study and read his journal. It details a ritual he devised involving a Stone Husk, and how the mortal subject of his experiment went mad. He had to put her down so the test subject couldn't hurt Count Verandis or anyone else. The Count forsake his research after that fiasco, but the journal mentions a reliquary with his essence in it, which is hidden somewhere in the castle. Tell Gwendis about the contents of the journal. She suggests that you use the castle's ritual chamber to ressurect a member of the Gray Council to interrogate. Gwendis needs you to fetch that reliquary the Count's journal mentioned. Verandis's Reliquary is located in Castle Grayhome's armory.
Head downstairs to the armory, which is north of the castle's entrance. The Ancient Chest containing Verandis's Reliquary lies to the northeast of the armory's southern entrance. Once you have the reliquary, head to the Ritual Chamber. Gwendis approaches the back of the room, which contains a sigil surrounded by four candles and a stone husk.
Light the four Ritual Candles around the stone husk to begin the ritual. The stone husk kneels as the reliquary glows blue. The energy from the reliquary is transferred to the husk, and the husk dissolves. From here, the story diverges depending on whether or not you've completed Rivenspire's story at the Doomcrag.

If you haven't completed the Rivenspire story at the Doomcrag, you'll resurrect Exarch Turvon. Defeat the vampire you've resurrected. Exarch Turvon dies, and Count Verandis enters the room, having felt when the wards were deactivated. He confronts Gwendis, and asks that you speak outside. He's honestly surprised to see the two of you here. He confirms that he had involvement with the Gray Host, and agrees to assist you with your investigation. Talk to Gwendis, who thanks you for all you've done. She rewards you for your assistance in the matter. |
If you've completed Rivenspire's story at the Doomcrag, you'll bring Count Verandis back to Nirn from Coldharbour. He is mad with hunger, and you must defeat him to pacify him. Once the Count has been brought back to his senses, meet him and Gwendis outside. He's out of sorts, and still coming to terms with the fact that he was just dragged out of Coldharbour by his own research. He confirms that he had involvement with the Gray Host, and agrees to assist you with your investigation. Talk to Gwendis, who thanks you for all you've done. She rewards you for your assistance in the matter. |
