Varasi Vaerin

Varasi Vaerin is a Dark Elf noble and Hireling of House Telvanni who can be found in the tower of Tel Vaerin in Alt Bosara. She is the sister of Master Vaerin, though they don't have a close relationship. If you are of a high enough rank in House Telvanni, she will tell you a bit about him.

She wears an Extravagant Robe, a pair of Extravagant Shoes, an Expensive Shirt, and a pair of Expensive Pants. She wields a Cruel Shardblade, and carries an Ornate Dwemer Pitcher and a copy of the books The Firsthold Revolt, The Wolf Queen, Book III and Breathing Water.

Aside from her natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by her ancestors, she knows the following spells: Cure Poison, Great Heal Companion, Resist Fire, Rest of St. Merris, and Seryn's Gift.

In the bedroom she is in, there is a limeware flask on the shelf to the right of the bed, a small chest of diamonds next to the flask, a bottle of Telvanni Bug Musk on the bedside table, and a bottle of Goya next to it.

"I am %Name, Telvanni noblewoman and mage skilled in Alteration, Illusion and Mysticism. You do not need to know any more than that."

"I created it. With my Alterational skills I assembled the stones and with my Illusional skills I smoothed out the rough edges to the eye. Grand artists create great things, and I am a grand artist."

• Master Vaerin:

"Cease boring me immediately."

"He is my brother. What do you want to know?"

• How powerful is he actually?: "That depends on the comparison. He is powerful enough to win a one on one battle with most of the Telvanni Councillors. But some of them work together, and my brother would not be able to succeed when outnumbered. He is also not powerful enough to be able to oppose Archmagister Dral. In any case, anyone below the rank of councilor wouldn't stand a chance against him."

• What is your relationship with him like?: "We are related, but that doesn't hold that much value to either him or me. We don't get in each other's way, so there is little conflict between us. Our shared interest in the magical school of Alteration is one of the few reasons we still communicate with each other."

• Why does he oppose the Temple?: "I cannot pinpoint the exact reason, since there are many, but I do know that my brother wishes for more power. The Temple, with all her Chapels and Pilgrims, stands in the way of my brother's ambitions, for they hold influence in regions my brother wants to call his own."

• What are his magical strengths?: "My brother is greatly skilled at the magical schools of Destruction, Conjuration and Alteration."

• What are his weaknesses?: "[Varasi laughs.] You expect me to just tell you what his weaknesses are? The only way I can interpret such a question is to conclude that you have ambitions to fight my brother. Then again, it could be fun to see you try to battle him... and fail miserably. So I'll give you some advice. My brother is highly skilled in many of the magical schools, but not in every one. You could use that to your advantage. Perhaps."
