Valia Vautere is an Imperial publican who operates The Moth and Tiger, an inn by the southern gate of Old Ebonheart. She can be found behind the bar on the ground floor. Unfortunately, she has suffered from a couple of poorly behaved drunken customers, being Astien Lothaire from the Mages Guild and Urien Poralia. While Urien just left behind an unpaid tab and his journal, Astien cursed the dining chairs to fly around the inn, requiring some more magical expertise.
She wears an extravagant shirt, a pair of exquisite pants, a pair of expensive shoes, and an extravagant sapphire amulet. She carries 55 gold, Urien Poralia's journal, and the wares she restocks for the bar.
Aside from her natural bonus and resistance to magicka, and her ability to shield herself for short periods, she knows no spells.

Dialogue[edit]
- Greeting:
- (Upon first meeting):
- "Welcome to the Moth and Tiger Inn, citizen! I am %Name, publican of this establishment. We rent beds, and I have a variety of foods and wines for sale. If you're new to Old Ebonheart, I can also tell you where to look for other services, or a specific place nearby. If you're looking for someone in particular, I may be able to help."
- Beds:
- (Upon renting a room):
- "Great. The room's upstairs. Enjoy your stay in the Moth and Tiger!" (Disposition +2, and removed 10 gold from your inventory)
- "The room is upstairs. Enjoy your stay."
Mages Guild: A Watery Fate[edit]
- Greeting:
- "That's it! No more wizards allowed in here, ever! Oh, when I catch that Astien Lothaire..."
- Astien Lothaire:
- "This fellow comes in, eats all my Colovian bread, drinks all my brandy, and then tells me my prices are too high and that he has no drakes to pay for anything! Then when I tell him I'm going to bring the guards, he starts calling me names in front of the customers. Greedy Glenmoril whore, blight swine, things like that. Then he cast that strange spell."
- Continue:
- "So we threw him in the street. Last thing I remember is his pathetic whining, begging for some water. Zaurac told him to go drown in the well. Easier said than done, that; most of the wells here connect to the sewer system. If your apprentice fell in, he could still be down there."

- chairs start flying:
- "They're calm now. I'd thank anyone who can help me get them back to the floor though. Do that magic thing you do, yes?"
- (After lighting Elvilde's Ritual Candle in the inn):
- "Thank you! Take this for your trouble. Truth be told, I wasn't looking forward to trying to replace them. Their wood was shipped all the way from Moridunon! As it is, I had better keep them in the back. Zaurac swears he saw one still twitching." (You receive 70 gold)
- strange spell:
- "Yes, it was very odd. Zaurac over there approaches him, and this Mages Guild sot seems to think he's being attacked, so he tries to cast some sort of spell. Something went wrong though; I could tell from his expression."
- Continue:
- "All of our chairs started flying around like they were alive! Instead of going for Zaurac, they attacked the mage. Even after he fell down, they kept bouncing off of him, so we threw him in the street before things could get bloody."
A Breadcrumb Trail[edit]
- some possessions:
- "Urien Poralia? He left his journal here when he ran out the door to play dice with some legion recruits. I'll hand it over once he pays me the 60 drakes he owes me."
- I'll pay his tab.:
- "As you will. Here take his journal. Oh, and please tell him to remember to pay next time." (Removed 60 gold from your inventory, and you receive Urien Poralia's Journal)
- (If she doesn't have the journal):
- "As you will; tell him to pay first next time... Uhm. I'm sorry, %PCName, I appear to have misplaced his journal. If you see it lying around just take it." (Removed 60 gold from your inventory)
- Alright.:
- "Can I get you anything?"
- "As I said, I'll hand over the journal once he pays me those 60 drakes." (See choices above)
- "If you want to find the rest of his possessions, you should probably ask around the Legion boarding house across the street. Maybe the recruits he left to play dice with will know where they are."
