Rumus Stannicus, bodyguard to the Minister of Temple Affairs in Old Ebonheart

Rumus Stannicus is an Imperial warrior. He can be found in the Ebon Tower of Old Ebonheart, in the eastern wing of the Curia. Here he watches over Nerasa Veran, the Minister of Temple Affairs. Nerasa's husband is the disgraced General Casik, and Rumus (having once served under the general himself) claims to have a sense of obligation to watch over her since her husband's incarceration, many years ago.

For protection, he wears a steel cuirass, a steel helm, a set of iron greaves, a pair of iron boots, and a pair of steel gauntlets. For clothing, he wears a common shirt and a pair of common pants. He wields an iron claymore.

Aside from his natural charm and ability to absorb fatigue from others, he knows no spells.

Miscellaneous[edit]

  • Belated Justice: General Casik has been languishing in a dungeon for three decades. He still insists that he is innocent.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Greeting:
(40% chance of appearing):
"Hello there, %PCRace. May I help you with something?"
"I see you, %PCRace. Are you here to see Nerasa Veran?"
  • Background:
"I am Rumus Stannicus. Once, I was a member of the Imperial Legion, but now I serve as Nerasa Veran's bodyguard."
"She is an exemplary officer and a fine leader."
  • Casik:
"General Casik? I served under him back when I was in the Legion. A shame what happened to him. It really devastated his wife, Nerasa Veran. She wasn't Minister of Temple Affairs back then."
  • my trade:
"I'm here just in case Nerasa requires my assistance, but things have been quiet recently. The Temple is being unreasonable and isn't allowing Nerasa to do her job."
  • Nerasa Veran:
"Nerasa has been through a great deal, first through her ordeal over Casik's imprisonment, and then over the business with the Dissident priests. I do what I can to look out for her."
(If Disposition ≥ 50):
"I know what it looks like, %PCRace, but there's nothing going on between me and Nerasa. It's just that I can't help feeling a little responsible for what happened to her after her husband was arrested. I do what I can to make her life a little easier."

Belated Justice[edit]

  • Casik:
"I always respected General Casik, but after what he allegedly did, I decided to leave the Legion. I felt responsible in some way for what happened to him, so I've been looking out for Nerasa ever since."
  • Were you a witness to General Casik's treason? Did you give testimony against him?:
"I was there when Casik talked to Victrix. She later told me that the general asked her to join in on a raid against Black Marsh, but I didn't overhear their conversation."
(If General Casik has been found innocent):
"I'm impressed that you were able to prove the General's innocence. Well done. I saw him before he left, and he told me he bore me no ill feelings. Nerasa decided to stay here in the city, and I can't say that I blame her after all she's been through."
(If General Casik has been found guilty):
"I heard an astonishing report that when General Casik was executed, his body became that of a Daedra's! If so, whatever happened to the real Casik?"
(If you killed General Casik):
"Astonishing! So General Casik really was a Daedra? If so, whatever happened to the real Casik? Honestly, I'm impressed, %PCRace. That was a ballsy move on your part, and it sounds like it paid off."
