Head Disappears[edit]

When wearing it may make your head disappear. — Unsigned comment by 24.111.47.58 (talk) at 20:52 on 4 June 2012

Pronunciation[edit]

Is the name pronounced Mor-o-kay or Mor-o-kai? — Unsigned comment by 184.88.12.130 (talk) at 13:23 on 23 July 2012

Given the pronunciation in the Dragon Language, I'd say it's pronounced Mo-rok-ay. But we never hear anyone mentioning him in-game, so it's hard to say. Elakyn 14:57, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Mage Armor[edit]

Hi, I was wondering whether Morokei will cancel the perks of Mage Armor (extra protection from armor spells when not wearing armor) in the Alteration tree or not. It is light armor, but it may be a special case. Does anyone know? 98.209.18.176 17:51, 22 December 2012 (GMT)

It will cancel out the effects of 'Mage Armor', since it has the keyword 'ArmorLight' on it. LoftedAphid86 18:11, 22 December 2012 (GMT)
Okay, I was hoping it was a special case. Well, guess I'll go back to hoods and robes instead of my arch-mage robes. 98.209.18.176 01:35, 23 December 2012 (GMT)

lost mine in a house somewhere[edit]

I can't seem to find mine. I know I did the dungeon and killed the priest 4 sure but I've been to all my houses and stash places and i can't seem to find it anywhere. is there anything that could help me locate it? — Unsigned comment by 86.93.160.70 (talk) at 15:25 on 3 January 2013

Nope. Unless you're on the PC, nothing can be done. —Legoless (talk) 15:59, 3 January 2013 (GMT)

Fortify Shout Effect[edit]

I did some tests with Talos' Blessing, Talos' Amulet and Morokei. It would seem that Morokei's Fortify Shout Effect was fixed in either an Official or Unofficial patch.

Whirlwind Sprint Cooldown for Level 1 shout, "Wuld"

  • Fortify Shout : 16 seconds
  • Fortify Shout+Talos Amulet : 13 Seconds
  • Fortify Shout+Talos Amulet+Morokei : 8 Seconds

Someone should test this to confirm it and edit this article. Having a 60% cooldown for shouts is pretty sweet. -- 184.161.112.107 21:14, 20 February 2013 (GMT)

Was fixed by the USKP, see here: https://afktrack.afkmods.com/index.php?a=issues&i=10618 Soggybobcat (talk) 18:36, 11 March 2013 (GMT)
Which version was it actually fixed in? I can't find any reference to it in the USKP patch notes... Jeancey (talk) 18:51, 11 March 2013 (GMT)
I don't know what version it was fixed in, but checking with TES5Edit shows that the USKP assigns the proper enchantment and updates the description. Soggybobcat (talk) 19:01, 11 March 2013 (GMT)
Hmmm I'll have to ask Arthmoor about that. He normally is very thorough in his change logs, to the point of absurdity sometimes. Jeancey (talk) 19:02, 11 March 2013 (GMT)

() Actually, given the date marked on the bug report you linked, it HAS to be the most recent version, because that is the only one to come out since it has been marked as fixed. Jeancey (talk) 19:05, 11 March 2013 (GMT)

Can't be; TES5Edit shows that it was fixed by version 1.3.0. or earlier, as that's the version I have installed right now. Soggybobcat (talk) 19:20, 11 March 2013 (GMT)
Then it wasn't fixed for you. Arthmoor updated it as fixed on March 6. The next patch note update came on march 8. The previous version came out on february 16, plus there is a generic enough patch note about fixing enchantments and descriptions on several items in the most recent update that it is likely that is when it was fixed. Are you sure you don't have the most recent one? Jeancey (talk) 19:23, 11 March 2013 (GMT)
I talked to Arthmoor and the changelog has been updated with the fix; see the 1.1 update. Soggybobcat (talk) 21:10, 11 March 2013 (GMT)
This was actually an item that was fixed clear back in August of 2012. When the USKP transitioned over to my stewardship, some of the documentation of things fixed between 1.0 and 1.1 got lost. This was likely among them. Further, our bug tracker is a bit of a mess having been through two tracking system changeovers. Right now, most of the old bugs are going to be marked as fixed in December of 2012, which is obviously incorrect. Some of the fix dates will be wrong too as we've been cleaning up data as it turns up.Arthmoor (talk) 21:14, 11 March 2013 (GMT)

() Hiding the Shout bonus in the bug section is confusing to those of us with the unofficial patch installed. Why would we look there when our version works? This is a bonus intended to be included in the original version of the game, not a bonus invented by a mod. Furthermore, the Dragon Priests page, for instance, makes no mention of the problem, which is even more misleading. I've been trying for weeks to figure out which mask has the shout bonus, only to discover that the description has been snipped for poor reasons. Something really needs to be done to clean all this up, so that finding out the correct operation of the masks is not such an adventure. Also, not even the Bug section mentions the size of the 20% bonus; you actually have to go to another page to find it. There is a problem when the in game descriptions are more informative than this page. 74.133.60.181 18:59, 3 August 2014 (GMT)

The main portion of the page should describe the item as to how it works in an unmodded game (and yes the uskp is a mod), so the shout info doesn't belong there. However, it does belong in the bugs section because it was likely given the wrong enchantment. The ingame description makes no mention of the shout bonus either, so there is no reason for someone to be confused as to why shouts are unaffected on that basis. The fortify shouts effect is always 20%, so it is redundant to mention its strength. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:52, 3 August 2014 (GMT)
The main portion of the page should describe the item as to how it was supposed to work in the original game. while the bug section should describe the exceptions. Is that not how it is done elsewhere? Clarify what you mean by the ingame description, because it appears both in the main description and in the effects description in my version of the game. The shout percentage is confusing because there is only one other item in the game with a Shout bonus, the Amulet of Talos, so there is no basis for anyone to conclude that the percentage is always 20. You haven't addressed the problem that the page http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dragon_Priest_Masks#Dragon_Priest_Masks is referencing this page with no bug caveat whatsoever. The fact that this bonus is so rare is precisely why its inclusion here is so important. The usefulness of the mask is fundamentally tied to the shout bonus. 74.133.60.181 21:00, 3 August 2014 (GMT)
Describing things as they were supposed to work rather than how they do work has no basis on any site with self-respect. People would far rather know how it works, than how it was supposed to work, and the entire reason for doing it the opposite way would fail if there were no fix for it, nevermind that the fix for this item is limited to a minority percentage of the people who have the game. The overview page has no room for listing bugs notes, quests or any other non-relevant material. The ingame description is supposed to appear in the enchantment section of the page, and your version of the game has obviously been modded, so an unmodded game would need to be checked to verify it if you are questioning it. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 21:13, 3 August 2014 (GMT)
I'm looking in the CSList, and I don't see any validity to this argument. As far as I can tell, Morokei isn't even supposed to have the cooldown. The enchantment has no mention to shouts, only to magicka regeneration. Looking the the Creation Kit returns no mention of the shouts cooldown. Am I just missing the entry or what? ~ Ad intellige (talk) 21:41, 3 August 2014 (GMT)
Search CSList for "EnchDragonPriestMask" without the quotes. You'll find the Moonstone mask enchantment in the resulting list, which goes with Morokei's material.∬(RisingDusk)dxdy 21:47, 3 August 2014 (GMT)

() Ah thank you! It wasn't named, which suggests, to me, that it wasn't intended in game. The description makes no mention of it, and since the relevant entry isn't named, I am inclined to believe this shouldn't be included at all. After all, it isn't a bug if the developers removed every in-game reference to it. Perhaps marking it as a note that says it was assigned a different enchantment would be better. ~ Ad intellige (talk) 21:54, 3 August 2014 (GMT)

I don't think it is our place to guess what Bethesda intended or not, so I side with documenting it "as-is" and maintaining the shout comment in the bugs section (especially relevant since it is changed in the USKP). What's annoying about the USKP fix, though, is that while it assigned the 'correct' enchantment, it never changed the enchantment text, and therefore someone using the USKP would have no idea of this adjustment at all. ∬(RisingDusk)dxdy 22:23, 3 August 2014 (GMT)
My issue is that because the text makes no mention of it, it seems highly probable that it wasn't intended to be there and they thought better of it. If it were in the description, then it would be a bug. Otherwise, I'm against it being considered a bug. Documenting it "as-is", for me, means we remove it from bugs. There is nothing other than a single entry that is unnamed in the CK that supports it ever being in game. No lore, no description, nothing whatsoever. I do not think we can document it as a bug just because it was fixed by a non-Bethseda employee and it has an unnamed, unreferenced entry similar to others. ~ Ad intellige (talk) 22:31, 3 August 2014 (GMT)
As shown in the bug report linked above, the mask doesn't use the same enchantment namestyle, though one exists. The other masks have unique enchantments, but this one does not, it uses a generic version, again where a unique one exists. No it doesn't display anything about the shout cooldown in the description, but given the evidence I am fine with listing it as a bug. Something being changed by the uskp does not automatically make it a bug, eg we do not count spelling mistakes as bugs, and we don't list it just because the uskp changed it either. Magical Morokei Multiplying Mannequin[edit]

I put the Morokei mask on the mannequin in my enchanter's tower in Windstad Manor. Some time later when doing some rearranging, I took the mask off and stored it in a chest with a few other dragon priest masks I had, and put some clothes and a circlet on the mannequin. When I came back after some adventuring, I discovered that the mask was back on the mannequin. The circlet was still in the mannequin's "inventory" but was not equipped. I took the mask off, put the circlet back on, and checked the chest. The mask was still in the chest, I was carrying a duplicate (which I sold when I got to Whiterun). This has happened 3 times, so I don't bother trying to put a circlet on that mannequin any more. Is this a known bug? - 173.212.101.126 20:19, 1 May 2014 (GMT)

Could be a mannequin dupe glitch. People post it on YouTube lots. DGAny Questions? 20:25, 1 May 2014 (GMT)

MGEF[edit]

Does anyone know if the Morokei enchantment (proper fixed version) has an MGEF id? That is to say, is it possible to use playerenchantobject to make something with the Morokei bonus?

Morokei does not in fact have the fortify shout effect with the USP on SE for some reason[edit]

It does not show up under the active effects tab, nor does it show up as one of the effects on the item. It also does not reduce the cooldown for shouting. — Unsigned comment by The Maggot Guy (talkcontribs) at 07:03 on 14 June 2021 (UTC)

IDK how this forum thing works but I fixed it here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/51177 so use that until the USP gets their act together The Maggot Guy (talk) 08:50, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
