Lore:Robe of St. Roris
Robe of St. Roris is a piece of clothing sacred to the Dunmer as a holy relic. It is the robe Saint Roris wore when he was slain. According to the doctrine of the Tribunal Temple it was blessed with his blood.[1] The robe was renowned for its ability to restore the fatigue and vitality of those who wore it.[2]
History[edit]
Roris wore his robe when he was captured by Argonians before the Arnesian War. He was subsequently tortured by Argonian sorcerers for not renouncing his faith in the Tribunal. His death was the cause of the Arnesian War as the Dunmer wanted justice and vengeance.[3][4] The robe was allegedly blessed by his blood upon his death.[1]
By the year 3E 427, the Robe of St. Roris was located within a cavern known as Assemanu, a place revered by followers of Dagoth Ur. This robe was considered a holy relic. Archcanon Tholer Saryoni of the Tribunal Temple made a request to the representative of House Hlaalu, who was working on behalf of Duke Vedam Dren. Tholer Saryoni asked them to retrieve the robe in exchange for Tholer's assistance and influence over the Ordinators. Whether the robe was ultimately delivered to the Archcanon remains unknown.[5][1]
